Tuff Gong Reality Check

Reggae inspiration. I can’t take credit for this.

“He’s not perfect. You aren’t either, and the two of you will never be perfect. But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can. He isn’t going to quote poetry, he’s not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. Don’t hurt him, don’t change him, and don’t expect for more than he can give. Don’t analyze. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad, and miss him when he’s not there. Love hard when there is love to be had. Because perfect guys don’t exist, but there’s always one guy that is perfect for you.”    ―      Bob Marley

I read this post at the perfect time. Thank you for writing his wise words here, thank you for reminding me:)

I recently dated a guy several times who practically BEGGED for me to tell him what I wanted to change about him. I thought we were supposed to be getting to know one another and finding out what we liked about one another and what we didn’t like about one another, not how to shove one another in some preconceived mold! Although it would be nice if he had been a good fit! 😉

Some guys (read most guys) have absolutely no idea how to “be the right man” for a woman. Most guys will hit or miss, try things that may or may not work. The smart ones will learn and discard the bombs. The dumb ones will repeat the ineffective patterns. The weenies will force the woman to take all responsibility not only for Her but for him as well. It ends either with him resenting Her, Her having no respect for him or him as an Irish Setter. Good luck Jessica.
      Sincerely, john
