You Can’t Win If You Don’t Play

If you never buy a ticket, you’ll never win the lottery. If you never fill out that Publisher’s Clearing House stack of mail, Ed McMahon’s crew will never show up at your house with a bunch of flowers and a cardboard check. If you never keep your eyes and heart open enough to find that special someone, you never will. Yes, the odds can be long. Yes, you may think it will never happen to you. Yes, you might say, “I keep trying but I never find that perfect one, or that acceptable one, or that one who doesn’t leave the seat up. I should just give up.” The search may be daunting, and frustrating and it may seem like you’ll just keep losing if you keep playing the game. But keep trying, because it’s for damn sure that you’ll never win if you don’t play.
